The Theme of Afterlife in Edgar Allan Poe's Works

The present paper deals with the attitude of Edgar Poe, a famous American writer and poet, to death afterlife – themes heaven hell in his works. It shows role Poe’s life experience personal tragedies formation understanding mentioned concepts; special attention is dedicated peculiarities romantic gothic genres, especially “dark romanticism,” combining features both, e.g. creation mysterious atmosphere, afterlife, mourning over lost love. presents personality, genius tragic fate, provides biographical information, which gives reader some idea about upbringing education, religion faith. While discussing its subject relies on works examples are brought from them order illustrate viewpoints offered paper. Based examples, conclusions made, i.e., number factors like suffering, upbringing, temper, literary religious faith, identified, makes it possible create truthful portrait artists.
